Places in and around West Virginia
Our old 'Stomping Grounds' and 'Neck of the Woods'
Kingston Community Church, Kingston WV. Arthur Kinley was the pastor there. His wife was Mary Kinley and a son named Art and daughter Nancy. I remember going there when we lived at Kingston, during the 50s and 60s.
This is a company house at Kingston W.VA. All the up stair houses looked alike at Kingston. We lived in one of those houses when us kids went to Kingston Elementary School. I don't believe this is the one. The houses were always in a row. Dixie Sprouse lived on the left of our house and to the right Holly Rupe. Across the road and playground lived the Endicotts and Irene Bailey.
Fire Station at Lick Knob...about 3 miles from Kingston WV...I remember walking a trail and going there but I can't remember if I climbed the tower.
Families in West Virginia looked forward to seeing the circus when it came to town! Passing thru... taken at Beard Forks, a town in Fayette County many years ago. After 146 years of tradition, having entertained generations gave their final performance May 21, 2017. THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH IS NO MORE!
Plum Orchard Lake...located in Fayette County near Pax, WV. Dad and Mom took us kids on picnics there when we were little.
